Russian player Alexander Bublik, who is a wild card at the ongoing Kremlin Cup, sensationally defeated the first seed, Spaniard Roberto Bautista-Agut, in two sets-6:2, 7:5.
Bublik enjoyed a great start, taking four games in the beginning and preventing his opponent from staging a comeback in the first set. In the second set, leads changed several times. In the end Aleksandr failed to serve a match point at 5:4, but immediately borke his opponent again and finished the win at the second try. Remember, Bautista-Agut played in the Shanghai Masters final on the previous Sunday, en route to which he dispatched Jo-Wilfired Tsonga and Novak Djokovic.
In the quartefinal, Bublik is set to play against another Spaniard, Pablo Carreno-Busta.
